I was quickly drawn into the story of Becky Lewis (Kelly-Ann Tursi), a twenty something ‘fantasy girl’ struggling to survive in Los Angeles. “No sex - just fantasy” is Becky’s motto. The detestable and bizarre acts she participates in quickly removes any illusion that this will be a ‘fairy tale’ like the movie Pretty Woman.
It’s a world so far removed from any world I’ve ever been accustomed to (real or otherwise). Quickly it becomes obvious that Becky has been hardened by an abusive childhood, she trusts almost no one and suffers from constant insomnia.
Despite harsh set backs, little to no human compassion from the people around her, Becky never loses determination to accomplish her goal of becoming a wealthy real estate investor.
The music and sound are all well balanced through out the film. There’s no flashy special effects or overdone scenery back-drops to distract viewers from the story. The director (Edgar Michael Bravo) simply lets the actors tell the story with honesty and believability. Worth the watch for any mature Indie film aficionado.
